Why 'Silk'?

So finally, here are the awesome advantages to using 'silk' on your wedding day:

  • No wilted flowers halfway throughout your Big Day
  • If you suffer from allergies silk is your best alternative
  • You are a 'destination bride' and do not want any 'surprises' from the local florists or,  where your
island wedding is located there are no florists
  • Your wedding is during a peak season (Mother's Day, Valentines Day, etc.) and most florists will not
accept your wedding order or will charge you outrageous prices
  • You want a lasting keepsake not only for you but your attendants as well
  • Your event date is during summer months when temperatures are too high for fresh flowers (82°F or
above will perish your fresh flowers very quickly )
  • You would like to have all your flowers organized and completed before the wedding so that they are
exactly how you want them and there will not be any mis-communication with the florist on your actual
    day.
  • The cost of bouquet preservation frightens you (usually between $200-$500)...ouch!
  • You still want fresh flowers for your bouquets but know that corsages, boutonnières, and hair flowers
are worn on the body which naturally gives off heat causing them to wilt quite rapidly
  • You want certain flowers in your bouquet that will be out of season on your wedding date
  • You live in an area where the closest florist is several miles away
  • You are having your photographs done a few days before the wedding
  • You are a 'prop stylist' for movies or theatrical productions and need lifelike realistic flowers that will
last through several takes and performances
  •  Silk won't drip 'sap' on your dress,  leaving a stain -that would not be good...
  • Premium silk flowers are less expensive than fresh and will look just as beautiful on your 20th
wedding anniversary as it did when you walked down the aisle.....sigh...

                                       We think you'll agree,
Silk is Better than Fresh!

We've come along way since our grandmothers twisted 'paper'
roses and lilies,  yet quality and lifelikeness still vary greatly from one
artificial bloom to another.  Commonly you'll find low to mid grade
quality florals in 'discount' and craft stores and sometimes your high
quality, botanically correct  and very life-like blooms can be found in
these stores as well....but rarely.  We use only  the finest quality silk
flowers  in all our bridal bouquets and wedding flowers.

The term 'silk flowers' is very broad and is most often used to
describe faux blooms.  As a matter of fact, you'd be hard pressed to
find any 'silk' in them at all! Special fabrics such as cotton/polyester
blends, latex, foam and even organza gives artificial flowers their
realism, not just visually, but to the touch as well.  Soft 'peach skin'
petals and transparencies add to these flowers' naturalism and most
recently,  deliberate yet clever 'faults' that you would only find in a 'real'
garden such as browning leaves, subtle color variations, and even
missing petals. We use only the top grade silk flowers in all our
designs and our brides are our inspiration. Silk floral design is an art
that allows the designer to twist and manipulate stems and flower
'heads' at degree's and angles that real flowers may not maintain or
be capable of performing. Some flowers are most beautiful in there
last stage of bloom which becomes extremely difficult to maintain
'freshness' when using perishable flowers. Most often you'll find that
they have become wilted before your grand entrance down the
aisle...what a shame.
